10 Questions Answered by LOST

24. May 2007 LOST, SciFi, TV

SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t figured out that there might be spoilers about the most talked about show on the Internet the day after the most-anticipated season finale ever, log off now. No, I don’t mean go to a different webpage. I mean turn off your computer and walk away. You don’t deserve internet access.

HOLY SHIT, LOST!

So I’m totally going fanboi over last nights Season Finale of LOST. Kudos to the writers, producers, directors and cast for the perfect execution of what a season finale should be! I’m finally excited again about LOST!!!

I don’t even know where to begin on my whole take on things. Let’s start with the questions answered:

QUESTIONS ANSWERED

  1. Jack loves everybody. He kisses Juliet and tells Kate he loves her. We all know the (sexual?) frustration that exists behind Jack and Locke, and Jack and Sawyer. It’s time they kissed and made up already. I wouldn’t be surprised if the five of them find themselves in a drunken orgy after a night of whisky, Kumbaya, and nude volleyball on the beach. Locke will be the fifth wheel and wondering why he’s always holding the feet.
  2. Sawyer gets over his identity crisis. His previous manhunt excursions have finally sunken in. He starts calling people by their proper name and doesn’t think twice about killing off a main supporting character. With this new self-awareness, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Sawyer rain down like Rambo on Othersville next season.
  3. The survivors do eventually get of the island. I think (see my next post). With a flash forward to the future, we see a usin’-n-abusin’ Future Jack all hopped up on Oxycotin. His dialogue with Future Kate reveals that they have a full recollection of the whole island and everything that happened. Jack is even more “lost” now without his island than he was on the island, and longs to return to LOST. Is this a very accurate painting for what’s in store for Matthew Fox? While his career advance beyond that of “Jack”? Or is he the next Mark Hamill? Hmm…
  4. Walt (where’s Michael?) is still very much part of the series. After their departure in Season 1, everyone has wondered if they were making a comeback. We know that Walt, in some form, appeared before Locke during this episode. He still has a role, but still not sure what it is.
  5. Alex discovers her mom is Danielle.
  6. Hurley gets to be a bad ass for once. Loved the VW GTA!
  7. Charlie doesn’t have to worry about dying anymore. RIP lil’ buddy, your character was often the right dose of British sarcasm and comedy when The Island was becoming a little too anal retentive (the series wouldn’t have survived past Season 2 without you).
  8. Pennelope discovers Desmond is still alive.
  9. Ben gets his ass kicked. Well, this didn’t answer any questions, it was just purely awesome to see Jack play Fists of Fury against his nemesis’ jawbone.
  10. The writers know what they are doing. After tonights episode, I have no doubt that they have a clear vision of what’s ahead for the series.

TOO BE CONTINUED…

After writing this post I realized it was too long to be contained in one post. Stay tuned when I return with 10 Questions ASKED by LOST.
